The William Morris Hunt Memorial Library at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston encompasses over 467,000 volumes, 150,000 pamphlets, and 60,000 auction catalogs across ten locations including curatorial libraries and an off-site depository. The Library supports research on the MFA's permanent collections, exhibitions, and acquisitions as well as general art history research in the wider scholarly and Boston communities.

MFA Print Collection searches the print collection of the MFA Library including books, journals, pamphlets, and auction catalogs
MFA Print + Digital Collection searches the print collection of the MFA Library as well as all electronically available resources such as journals and articles. This limiter is the default.
Remove all limiters in order to search everything including items for which we do not have access.
The Library Reading Room is located off of the Brown Gallery (170).
Did you know that the Reading Room is a great place to do quiet work? We have multiple workspaces including a monitor hook-up and a private meeting/focus space.
